Emerging filmmakers, trying to reach an audience, often use Science Fiction for their first attempt at creating a cinematic experience. That is why we selected a list of astonishing sci-fi films from independent filmmakers who came up with unforgettable stories worth-watching.

Every year there is a debate over the relevance of the Academy Awards nowadays. But guess what, the Oscars do matter a lot! And when it comes to the short film categories, across animated, live action, and documentary, the Oscars hold profound significance within the filmmaking community and beyond.
