FAQ

What is CenterFrame?

CenterFrame is an international community of filmmakers and screenwriters. We provide a hub to connect with fellow creatives, grow your skills with courses and workshops, access funding, and build your filmmaking career.


How does it work?

When joining the community, you have the option to take the free membership, with unlimited use of the platform, and only pay to apply for funding, access classes, and go to events as-and-when you want to, or to pay for a yearly Pro membership, which will give you early access and low/no fees for funding applications, classes, and events. 


There is also a Premium annual membership which offers tailor-made events for more experienced filmmakers - by invitation only.


What Funding opportunities do you offer?

We have two types of funding: 

The GET IT MADE competitions, and Seasonal Funding Rounds - both offer grants to produce short films and/or TV pilots. 


Are all the events Online?

No. We host a number of in-person events, at the moment only in the United Kingdom. For our international members, we enable online access to these events, as well as host online-only events. 


How will funding our projects work?

In short, members create projects on CenterFrame.com, where they submit all necessary information to apply for funding, such as scripts, budgets, synopses, pitch videos, etc. When the time comes you apply for funding. After a preliminary eligibility check by staff, members review the projects, pick their favourites and rank them in order of preference. The projects with the most points receive funding.


What kind of films do you fund?

CenterFrame is completely content-agnostic. The types of films are entirely supplied and chosen by members. It doesn’t matter if it’s a documentary, animation, drama, horror, or anything else. Barring incidents of hate speech or inciting content, CenterFrame does not decide which films are worth making or not. Only members do.


Will CenterFrame own my movie?

No. The project belongs to the holder of the intellectual property.

If you apply for funding and your project lands a grant, CenterFrame will make a legal arrangement with you in order to supply the funding, just like if you apply for any other funding. CenterFrame only asks for non-exclusive rights to show your film or parts of it for marketing purposes. 


RECOMMENDED  FOR  WRITERS & WRITER-DIRECTORS

Each  month,  a  group  of screenwriters  get  together online  to  discuss  a  produced  screenplay.
